Installing the Chrome extension#

  • Step 1 : From your Chrome browser, follow this download link.

  • Step2 : You arrive at the LockSelf extension page.

    Click on Add to Chrome.

  • Step 3: A pop-up appears "Install LockSelf".

    Click on Add the extension.

  • Step 4 : The plugin is then added to your browser.


To pin LockSelf to Chrome's toolbar, follow the steps below after after having installed the extension:

  • Click on the "puzzle" icon in the toolbar extensions:
  • Then click on the icon in the shape of a drawing pin opposite the LockSelf extension, which will then turn blue: there, our extension's icon will now appear to the right of the search bar.
  • The LockSelf icon will now be easily accessible from Chrome's toolbar.

Installing the Firefox extension#

Step 1: From your Firefox browser, follow this download link.

Step 2: Click on Download the extension then on the Mozilla Firefox logo.

Step 3: A new tab appears with a a pop-up"Authorise firefox.lockself.com à instal an additional module?".

Click on Continue Installation.

Step 4: A new pop-up appears "Add LockSelf ?".

Click on Add.

Step 5: The plugin is then added to your browser.

Installing the Edge extension#

Step 1: From your Edge browser, follow this download link.

Step 2: You arrive at the LockSelf extension page.

Click on download.

Step 3 : A pop-up appears "Add LockSelf to Microsoft Edge".

Click on add the extension.

Step 4: The plugin is then added to your browser.

Deploying the plugin (Group Policy)#

Deploying on Chrome browser#

In your Microsoft Windows group strategy editor (Desktop folder or User Configuration) :

  • Step 1: Download the most recent strategy module if not already done.

  • Step 2: In the group strategy editor, create a new GPO for the LockSelf installation module on Chrome (or add it to an existing GPO).

  • Step 3: Go to "User configuration > Administration models > Google > Google Chrome > Extensions».

  • Step 4: Select "Configure the list of applications and extensions whose installation is forced ".

  • Step 5: Activated - Post/Show... - and enter the following string (this is LockSelf extension username and update URL) :

    keafkoopbkbjlbbedmonhnfgfciaphdb

  • Step 6: Click on «"OK" and apply the group strategy to the desired perimeter.

Deploying on Microsoft Edge browser (Chromium)#

  • Step 1: Download the most recent strategy model if not already done

  • Step 2: In the group strategy editor, create a new GPO for the LockSelf installation module on Edge (or add it to an existing GPO).

  • Step 3: >Go to "User configuration > Strategies > Modèles Administration models > Microsoft Edge > Extension"

  • Step 4: Select "Check extensions installed silently »

  • Step 5: Activated - Post/Show... - and enter the following string. This is the LockSelf extension username:

  • Step 6: Click on "OK" and apply the group strategy to the desired perimiter. When the user next connects, the LockSelf extension will change when Edge launches.

Deploying on Microsoft Edge browser (old version)#

Microsoft does not natively deploy extensions in Edge: third-party tools are required.
