User supervision presentation

Types of rights#

  • Administrators
  • Moderators
  • Category supervisorss
  • Simple users
  • External users

Adminstrative rights are supervised from the LockSelf Management tab.

Administrator status #

An administrator is responsible for an organisation. Each administrator can only be responsible for a single organisation.

Important point: in creating one or more suborganisations, the Adminmistrator makes the choice to give autonomy to certain Directorates / Branches / Teams.

As a matter of fact, an administrator will be able to see and supervise those user of its suborganisations but will not have sight of the password (LockPass) and folder (LockFiles) category hierarchies created by the administrators/moderators of its suborganisation.

The objective here is to allow access to data between different entities segregated within the same company.

For example : The Finance and Administrative Director (FAD) does not want the administrator of the parent organisation to see the categories and passwords allowing access to the bank accounts. A Financial Direction organisation is therefore set up with the FAD as Administrator..

Administrator rights#

  • Creating/supervising/deleting users in his organisation.

  • Creating/supervising/deleing user groups in his organisation.

  • Creating/supervising/deleting sharing categories associated with his orgainsation (LockPass).

  • Creating/supervising/deleting folders associated with his organisation (LockFiles).

  • Creating/supervising/delting users of suborganisations in his organisation.

Administrator access#

An Administrator has access:

  • To all sharing categories (LockPass) of his organisation, that is to say not only those created by administrators and moderators but also by himself.
  • To all folders (LockFiles) in his organisation, that is to say not only those created by moderators and administrations bu also by himself.
  • To the user supervision tab.
  • To the Archive tab.

Suborganisations' administrators are appointed by the parent organisation's administrator when it is created.

Note, to be appointed as administrator, the user must already have an active account with LockSelf, and not have a current moderator status.

Moderator status #

In contrast to administrators, there may be several modertors in an organisation.

warning

Creating at least one moderator per organisation is strongly recommended. Why? If the administrator loses their PIN, the moderator will be able to take their place and preserve the integrity of the data stored on the LockSelf platform.

Moderator rights#

A moderator has the same rights as the administrator, but only in their organisation. Each moderator can only be responsible for a single organisation.

A moderator can:

  • Create/supervise/delete users in their organisation.
  • Create/supervise/delete groups of users in their organisation.
  • Create/supervise/delete sharing categories associated with their organisation (LockPass).
  • Create/supervise/delete folders associated with their organisation (LockFiles).

Moderator access#

A moderator has access to:

  • All sharing categories (LockPass) of their organisation, that is to say not only those created by the administrators and superviors of their organisation but also themself.
  • To all folders (LockFiles) of their organisation, that is to say not only those those created by the administrators and supervisors of their organisation but also themself.
  • To the user supervisor tab.
  • To the Archive tab.

Moderators are actually simple users appointed by their organisation's administrator. The administrator delegates rights to one or more moderators. Note, to be appointed as administrator, the user must already have an active account with LockSelf.

Category supervisors #

Managers are simple users to whom administrators and moderators can give administration rights, but only for certain categories (LockPass) or folders (LockFiles).

A supervisor can be a manager, or a project manager, who will be able to become involved with administrative functions at the level of their sharing category.

Supervision rights#

A supervisor can:

  • Add/supervisor/delete users of a category (LockPass) / folder (LockFiles).
  • Add/delete groups of users from a category (LockPass) / folder (LockFiles).
  • Create/supervise/delete sharing categories to which he has rights (LockPass).
  • Create/supervise/delete associated folders to which he has rights (LockFiles).

Supervisor access#

A supervisor has access:

  • To all sharing categories(LockPass) to which administrators and moderators of his organisation have given him rights.
  • To all folders (LockFiles) of his organisation, that is to say those to which administrators and moderators of his organisation have given him rights.

A supervisor does not have access:

  • To the User Supervision tab
  • To the Archive tab

Supervision rights are supervised from the LockPass sharing categories and from the LockFiles directories.

Simple users #

Simple users do not have specific administration rights.

A simple user can:

  • Create, access and condsult passwords (LockPass) and files (LockFiles) in their private spaces.
  • Consult and access passwords (LockPass) and files (LockFiles) of categories and folders to which administrators, moderators and supervisors have given them rights.
  • Create and supervise categories (LockPass) or folders (LockFiles) in private spaces.

A simple user cannot:

  • Create categories (LockPass) or folders (LockFiles)

A simple user does not have access:

  • To the User Supervision tab
  • To the Archive tab.

A simple user can be put forward as a supervisor, moderator or administrator.

Service providers #

A service provider has the same rights as a simple user. The only difference is is the reference made about each user in question ("Service Provider") at User Supervision tab level. This particular feature allows administrators quickly see who are service provider users (consultant, intern, external collaborator etc.).
