New transfer

Creating a new transmission#

With LockTransfer, your transmissions will be secure thanks to end-to-end encryption. Two protective options can then be added for securely downloading your documents: protection by password or email.

  • To create a new transmission, click on the button "" and then on the button « Transfer ».
  • Then select your document from your file explorer or by using drag & drop.

Protective options#

Password protection#

Password protection allows your documents to be securely downloaded by requesting a password from the recipient. The transfer access password is set when the transfer is created.

Your recipients will have to enter the password set in order to unencrypt your transmission and retrieve your documents. Don't forget to get the password to your recipients, either directly by SMS via the interface, or by another means (email, instant messanger, etc.).

  • Step 1: At the bottom right of the screen, click on the button "" then on Transfer.

  • Step 2: A pop-up appears for adding your files.

  • Step 3: Staying in the column "Password protection"

  • Step 4: Add your recipients

  • Step 5: Select your transfer options:

    • Choose to receive download acknowledgements
    • Specify an epiry date
    • Select a potential download rate for the transfer
    • Add a description/comment

Email protection#

Email protection allows downloading of your files to be restricted to only those recipients specified when sending. This method of protection allows total control to be retained over those recipients able to download your documents.

  • Step 1: At the bottom right of the screen, click on the button «» then on Transfer.

  • Step 2: A pop-up appears for adding your files.

  • Step 3: Choose the option "By email"

  • Etape 4: Add your recipients

  • Step 5: Select your transfer options:

    • Choose to receive download acknowledgements
    • Specify an expiry date
    • Add a comment/description

With the Office 365 plugin (webapp)#

tip

If using Outlook, initially download the plugin and instal it >> installer le plugin Outlook.

Directly integrated in your inbox, this plugin allows you to generate transfers directly from the Outlook application.

  • Step 1: Create a new email
  • Step 2: Draft your email as normal and add your recipients
  • Step 3: Click on the LockSelf icon when you add the files
  • Step 4: Select your documents and choose your options from the panel

  • Step 5: Click on "Generate a secure link"

  • Step 6: Your link is established, your email is ready and being sent.

With the Office 365 plugin#

This Outlook plugin also works from your heavy client. Note, these are the compatible Outlook versions:

- Outlook 2019 or later on Windows
- Outlook 2019 or later on Mac
- Outlook on Mac (Microsoft 365)
- Outlook on Windows (Microsoft 365)
- Outlook on the web
  • Step 1: Create a new email
  • Step 2: Draft your email as normal and add your recipients
  • Step 3: Click on the LockSelf icon when attaching files
  • Step 4: Select your documents and choose the options from the panel

  • Step 5: Click on "Establish a secure link"

  • Step 6: Your link is established, your email is ready and being sent.

With the Outlook plugin#

The Outlook plugin is available for heavy clients on the folowing versions:

- Outlook 2013 or later on Windows
- Outlook 2016 or later on Windows
- Outlook 2016 or later on Mac

This plugin is a COM add-on which can be executed on your computer to generate transfers as from the Office 365 plugin.

Contact your LockSelf point of contact to obtain it.

Generating a transfer#

From the LockTransfer interface you will find the list of active transfers.

By clicking on a transfer a panel will appear on the right of your screen. From this panel you can consult the information associated with the transfer:


Transfer with password protection#

These are the features that you will be able to generate in real time:

  • Activating/deactivating the transfer in real time
  • Monitoring downloads: being notified by email of each download
  • Adding recipients
  • Monitoring the download rate
  • Adding/amending/deleting the expiry date
  • Downloading the file monitoring report

Transferring with email protection#

These are the features that you will be able to generate in real time: ​

  • Activating/deactivating the transfer in real time
  • Monitoring downloads: being notified by email of each download> - Ajouter des destinataires
  • Adding/amending/deleting the expiry date
  • Downloading the file monitoring report

Deleting/archiving a transfer#

When you delete a transfer, the files are deleted from the servers. Downloading by the recipients then becomes impossible.

A transfer can be deleted manually, or either automaticlly when the expiry date and/or the number of possible downloads are reached.

tip

Use the variables (expiry date/or download rate) for automatically archiving your transfers. Keeping control of your transfers is important to ensure that they are not available for too long.

File monitoring report#

The file monitoring report allows you to fully track download operations made by recipients.

In order to create it:

  • Step 1: Select a transfer
  • Step 2: Click on "Report"

  • Step 3: Your report is created:

Archives#

When your transfers are deleted, an archive of what is sent is kept in the "Archives" tab.

This tab will allow you to easily find the archive of what you have sent as well as the associated file monitoring report.
