Real-time search
LockPass features a real-time search (live search) that displays results as you type, with no extra action required. By default, the search covers the name, URL and tags of your passwords simultaneously.
Who can use it?
All users can run a search, view the results and select a password, regardless of their role.
Running a search
To search for a password:
- Type at least 2 characters in the search field.
- Results appear automatically after a short pause in typing. You can also press Enter or click the magnifying glass icon to launch the search.
- Browse the list of results: each password is displayed with its URL.
To tell apart several accounts linked to the same site, click the "Show login" button on a result to display the corresponding login.
Refining your search
The Name, URL and Tag filters are unchecked by default: the search therefore runs across all of these criteria combined. To narrow the search to a specific criterion, tick the matching filter.
The search type is selected using radio buttons, for a clearer and more immediate choice.
Leaving the search
When you have selected a password from the results and then leave the search (by clicking the cross):
- Navigation returns to the list of categories.
- The selected password stays displayed in the side panel, so you don't lose your context.
If several passwords were selected, the display stays on the selected password.
