The security key
The security key is the second step in authenticating to your account. It gives access to the encrypted, secured data in the vault.
It must be set according to the following complexity: 12 characters minimum | 1 lowercase letter | 1 uppercase letter | 1 digit | 1 special character.
If you lose your security key, you can use the recovery key to reset it. This recovery key is provided when you finalize your account activation, or when changing your security key in the application.
History
- LockSelf does not keep a history of security keys.
- LockSelf has no access to the recovery key, which is provided when the account is activated or when the security key is changed.
- The security key is shared only with the user when their account is activated or when they change their security key.
Anti-brute force
- After 10 failed attempts, the account is automatically locked.
- No manual action can unlock the account.
- The account stays locked for 30 minutes.
- After 30 minutes, the account is unlocked again and ready to use.
