The PIN code

To access your LockSelf account, you must set and enter a PIN code. Read on to learn everything you need to know about the PIN code.

What is the PIN code?

The PIN code is the second and final step of authentication for each user. It is set by each user when the account is created.

This code is strictly personal and must not be disclosed under any circumstances, neither to your colleagues nor to your LockSelf administrator.

Why is it important?

This PIN code lets you access the data that is encrypted and secured in the vault.

Without this PIN code, you will have no way to access the vault, and therefore no way to view the data it contains.

If you lose your PIN code, you will not be able to regenerate it. The application allows you up to 10 attempts to recover it before your account is temporarily locked.

What happens if you lose it?

If you cannot recover your PIN code, contact your administrator.

They will have to delete your account and send you an invitation so that you can create a new account.

Warning: the data stored in your Personal Space will be deleted.

PIN code rules

A PIN code must follow these rules:

  • it cannot be a logical sequence of digits (reversed or not)
    • Example: 123456, 456789, 765432 ...
  • it cannot contain the same digit 6 times
    • Examples: 111111, 555555 ...

How to change it?

If you want to change your PIN code (to make it more complex, simpler, or simply to change it), you can do so from your LockSelf interface.

To do so, go to the Settings tab and click the "Change my PIN code" section.
