To access your LockSelf account, you can set up a so-called MFA connection. Read on to find out everything you need to know about the MFA connection procedure.

What is MFA?
MFA (or multi factor auhentification, s) allows you to add an extra level of security to your LockSelf account.
When you log in to your account, in addition to your usual credentials (email and password, for the standard connection as for the SSO connection) and the 6-digit PIN code, you'll be asked to enter a verification code.
This code, which you'll obtain from your authenticator app on your smartphone, must be entered at each new connection or if you close your web browser.
How to set up MFA?
-
Step 1: To be able to log in with MFA on your account, click on your First and Last Name at the top left, then on "Personal Settings" and on "Manage authentication"
- Step 2: Open the one-time password generation app on your smartphone (Google Authentificator, Microsoft Authenticator), then click + and "Scan QR code". Sannez le QR Code qui s'affiche sur LockSelf.
🚨If you can't scan the QR Code with your smartphone, click on "Scan impossible?" on LockSelf. Then go to the Google Authentificator app on your smartphone, click + and "Enter configuration key" and transfer the key displayed, without spaces. You can copy and paste it if required.
|
Once the scan has been completed or the key filled in, a new code will appear in your Google Authentificator application, under the label Lockself.
Then click "Next".
- Step 3: Transfer the code that appears in your Google Authentificator application to the "Code" field. Then click on "Validate".
🚨Please note, you have a maximum of 30 seconds to type in your code and validate this step. After this time, a new code will be displayed on your smartphone, and this is the one you'll need to enter in the field provided, as the old one is no longer valid. |
-
Step 4: 10 emergency codes will be offered, so you can still log in to MFA and access your account, even if you no longer have access to your smartphone or the Google Authentificator app. In this case, these 10 codes will be your one and only means of accessing your Lockself account. Download, or copy these emergency codes, and store them carefully in a secure place (not in your safe, as these codes will be used to access your account).
Then click on "I have retrieved my codes".
MFA activation for your account will then be complete.
How to log in with MFA?
The MFA step will appear after the email and password steps and the PIN step.
In the field provided, enter the 6-digit code displayed on your smartphone's Google Authentificator app.
🚨Warning, you have a maximum of 30 seconds to type your code and validate this step. After this time, a new code will be displayed on your smartphone, and this is the one you'll need to enter in the field provided, as the old one is no longer valid. |
If you can't access this application from your smartphone, click on "Use an emergency code", and transfer one of the 10 emergency codes you kept aside when activating your MFA (see previous step).
🚨Please note: each of these 10 codes can only be used once, so remember to remove it from the list once you've used it. |
Once you've entered the code, you'll be logged in and have access to your account.
How to disable MFA?
- Step 1: To be able to disable MFA on your account, Click on your First and Last Name at the top left, then on "Personal Settings" and on "Manage Authentication"
🚨If you are unable to log into your account, and wish to disable MFA, contact your Administrator. |
-
Step 2: Transport the code that appears in your Google Authentificator application into the "Code" field. Then click on "Confirm".
- If you don't have access to your smartphone, click on "Use a backup code", and transfer one of the 10 backup codes you kept aside when activating your MFA (see the MFA activation step).
🚨Please note, you have a maximum of 30 seconds to enter your code and validate this step (this does not apply to the emergency code). After this time, a new code will be displayed on your smartphone, and it's this one that you'll need to enter in the field provided, as the old one is no longer valid. |
🚨Please remember to remove the code coresponding to LockSelf in the Google Authentificator app on your smartphone. |
